Gentleman’s Box Review

The subscription box bug hit me last month. I was browsing through some promotional offers when I saw a discount code for the gentleman’s box and decided to order one.

It’s a $25 monthly subscription box for men made up of items meant to compliment the lifestyle of a “gentleman.” I think this is described as business professionals or fashion-oriented men.

It arrived quickly. I was quite pleased with the sleek, masculine packaging. I looked over the contents, took a few pictures, and then passed it on to my better half to enjoy.

We received the “Superhero” April 2016 box. This is what we received:

  • Wolf Clothing Co. Laven Socks – $14
  • The Fashion Anchor – $15
  • Knot Society Navy Polka Dot Tie – $30
  • Gentleman’s Box Eye Glass Tie Clip – $20
  • Frey Detergent for Men – $6

In terms of the items included the socks and detergent were our favorites. I’m not sure I’d pay $6 for a detergent sample but it does have a nice scent. The socks feel well made and soft. Skinny ties are in right now but my guy doesn’t wear them and the tie clip was a bit silly to me. It would probably be a great gift for an optomitrest but beyond that I don’t personally know anyone who would wear it. I should mention it’s a good quality metal clip. I just wish it was more understated. The fashion anchors are also useless for us due to proper laundry care. I never have any problems with getting shirt collars staying down.

I could see someone really enjoying this box but it’s just not for us. I don’t think we’re the target market. We both prefer classic styles to current ones.
